Description

This protein-powdered banana bread is a delicious, healthier twist on a classic favorite. By replacing part of the flour with protein powder, it provides a nutritious boost that makes it perfect for breakfast or a post-workout snack.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup protein powder (vanilla or plain)
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup chopped nuts or chocolate chips (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the flour, protein powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt together.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the mashed bananas, eggs, honey or maple syrup, Greek yogurt, and vanilla extract.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Stir in the chopped nuts or chocolate chips if desired.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 45-55 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  6. Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
