Spicy Tuna Cakes are a delightful twist on your typical seafood cake. Combining flaky tuna with spicy peppers and aromatic herbs, these tuna cakes are perfect for a quick lunch or as a savory appetizer. They're packed with protein and flavor while being gluten-free and easy to make.


  • 2 cans of tuna in water, drained (12 oz or 340g total)
  • 1/2 cup almond flour (2 oz or 56g)
  • 2 large eggs (3.5 oz or 100g)
  • 1/4 cup diced red bell pepper (1 oz or 28g)
  • 1/4 cup diced green onions (1 oz or 28g)
  • 2 tablespoons chopped cilantro (0.5 oz or 14g)
  • 1 jalapeno, finely chopped (0.5 oz or 14g)
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice (0.5 oz or 15ml)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Oil for frying


  1. In a large bowl, combine the drained tuna, almond flour, eggs, bell peppers, green onions, cilantro, jalapeno, and lime juice. Season with garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.
  2. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Form the tuna mixture into small patties.
  3. Cook the patties for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden and crispy.
  4. Remove the tuna cakes from the skillet and drain on paper towels. Serve hot with a side of fresh salad or your favorite dipping sauce.
